40,000+ words and counting

The other day I started writing again for my second book. I’m so happy to know that I’m getting close. I feel bad though that I know I’m this close to finish my first draft and yet I stopped writing for months (since I went back to work full-time). When I went to a book fair last weekend, I talked with another author about his writing schedule because I told him the situation I’m in right now. Losing my motivation to do so!

He told me always open my writing every day. No matter if I write five or ten words as long as I do something with it, then I’m good (although writing more than five or ten words is better!). I checked all the chapters I’ve written and I know just like my first draft for my first book, Pesos to Pennies, this will take my time.

I’m planning on publishing this in early 2019. So I will spend the entire 2018 in rewriting and editing this work. My goal is to hit at least 50,000 words. I’m sure if I pour my focus on this one these few weeks, the first draft will be done before the end of the year.

I don’t have a title yet but I got a few ideas (and suggestions would be welcome!). For now, I’m trying to motivate myself to work harderĀ on finishing this project.

I’ll keep you updated.

Happy Thursday, everyone!

Welcome aboard, Nena, and thank you so much! I’m glad you found my blog. I just checked your website and yours is interesting. I’m curious too how other people live in different places. Now I have another blog to read. And with my book, Pesos to Pennies, you can buy a copy on Amazon. I hope you’ll like it.
      Have a great weekend!
